ryujin park was born the second and final son in a line of five eventual children, which gave him middle-child syndrome to the nth degree. he was always the child who fussed, who tried to get attention and lashed out when he didn't get it. his parents awlays paid the most attention to the two oldest siblings, allowing the rest of them to fall to the wayside as they crafted the oldest into their image and passed the rest onto nannies, family, and the like.

ryu didn't take lightly to being ignored by his parents, and usually made elaborate plans to get them to pay attention to him. he was a creative, resourceful child, if a bit demonic and disruptive, and he put many plans into action. finally his antics got him the exact opposite reaction he'd been hoping for: at the tender age of ten, he and his sister minhee were shipped to live with family in seoul.

this solidified ryu's budding rebellious streak, an anger bubbling under his skin at the thought, and he became inconsolable, uncontrollable and outright dangerous sometimes as he grew up alongside his baby sister and his cousin. he had a nose for trouble and began racking up quite the impressive list of misdemeanors on his juvenile records.

after high school, where he spent most of his time equal parts fucking off and proving to the teachers how smart he could be when he wanted to be, he decided to goto seoul national university. he hoarded scholarships and student loans and took every art class that was offered. while he applied all of his best work to the art classes, he napped through most of his general ed classes. out of boredom, he got a job as the sales clerk at a local art supply store, but that was mostly to have free access to as many supplies as he could ask for at a discount price. he recently opened up his own pop-up tattoo shop since the practice is still illegal in south korea.

random facts moved to seoul when he was ten. more like was forcibly moved.

was a student at snu, majoring in art. his forte is graffiti art, but obviously he can't major in that. he keeps taking classes and avoiding his last credit so he doesn't have to graduate and go out in the world to be a real functioning adult.

worked at an art supplies store part-time to supplement his education, but is buried up to his eyeballs in student debt that he plans to dodge for the rest of his life.

born the second youngest in a family of five, he was bit by the rebellious bug early on in life, which would have bothered any other parents but his own.

being sent to live with their aunt and uncle in seoul made him even more rebellious and he found himself convinced early on that their parents just didn't care about them. he protected minhee from this fact for as long as he could.

while grades had always been priority in his family, ryu always excelled at the elective classes, finding a love of art early on when he was drawing on whatever he could get his hands on. he used to draw on his parents' walls just to make them angry and get them to pay attention to him. he's convinced that's the main reason he was shipped to seattle with min.

his biggest fuck-you to his parents is the fact that he's openly bisexual and unabashed.

most people tend to think he's either just gruff or a straight-up asshole because of his rough attitude. he tends to be snarky and dry-witted on any given day. he has a minor major attitude issue, but the truth is he just doesn't care. he's been called anything from a heartless douche to a straight-up bitch, but frankly he doesn't care what people think of him. his soft spot is usually reserved for his little sister and his cousin.
